Zendaya is a real model, not a role model.
Earlier this week on Radio Disney’s The Alli Simpson Show, the 19-year-old ‘K.C. Undercover’ actress was asked how it feels being a role model.
And, of course, in true Zendaya fashion, she answered unapologetically honest, explaining why she prefers the term ‘real model’ over ‘role model.’
“I like the word real model a little bit better because, you know, if you’re a role model, then you’re kind of pretending, right,” Zendaya shared. “You’re in a role.”
“And for me I don’t feel like I’m pretending to be anyone or in a role.”
“I’m not being someone else, I’m just completely being myself. And in being myself and being true to myself, that in turn inspires and helps other people.”
